For Galveston Island residents only. Anyone through age 21 can visit these clinics, but if you are under 18, you need a consent form signed by a parent or guardian. Medical services include examination, diagnosis and treatment of both acute and chronic illness, immunizations, well-child exams, well-woman exams, treatment of minor injuries, physical exams including work and sport physicals. Mental health services include care for depression, school problems (learning disabilities and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), family problems, anxiety, grief counselling, and stress management.

Avondale House was founded in 1976 to provide a source of respite, residential, educational, and family support services to individuals with autism and their families in the thirteen-county Houston/Galveston region. Avondale House is one of the few resources in Texas to offer an array of services for children and young adults most severely impacted by autism. We operate a year-round day school.

"We also have a smaller day habilitation program for young adults, where clients receive training in daily living skills and pre-vocational activities. The agency also operates three residential group homes in southwest Houston for our clients who are unable to live in their own homes. Additionally, Avondale House offers a community education and outreach program for parents, families, and professionals raising and working with individuals with autism, and ancillary or a la carte services for individuals who may not be enrolled in our other programs.
