The City of Texas City is providing $935,000 in federal funds for rental assistance for Texas City residents who are directly impacted by COVID-19. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston will distribute the funds.
The Texas City Emergency Rental Assistance Program is available for renters who live within the City of Texas City limits. Tenants must have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, experiencing housing instability, and have a household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income.
Both the tenant and landlord must apply, using the online application available through www.TexasCityHelp.org. Funds will be distributed in the order in which completed applications are submitted by both eligible tenants and their landlords, prioritized based on the highest level of need.
Eligible households may qualify for up to three months of assistance, not to exceed 120% of Fair Market Rates in Texas City/Galveston County.
