After-School Programs

  • Offered at Carver Community Center and Sanders/Vincent Community Center
  • These programs offers a variety of activities including:
    • Arts and crafts
    • Games
    • Helping with homework
    • Physical fitness
    • Playtime
    • Sports, more
  • All children are expected to participate in each activity
  • There are six sessions; each session is on a first come first serve basis
  • The program is closed for:
    • City holidays
    • Spring break
    • Thanksgiving
    • Christmas break

Camps

The Texas City Recreation and Tourism Department provides a spring break and summer camp for kids. The spring break camp is offered at the Nessler Center. The summer camps are offered at the Nessler Center, Lowry Fitness Center, Carver Community Center as well as the Sanders/Vincent Community Center. All camps are limited and a minimum enrollment of 15 children is required. During the summer, parents may register for more than on camp session.

All of our camps emphasize the importance of physical activity through fitness and organized sports. Activities include arts and crafts, sports, board games, as well as an array of both indoor/outdoor activities.

Camp fees categorized as Resident or Non-Resident. To receive the resident rate you must provide the required information at the time of registration.

Youth Art Classes

Do you have a young artist in the making or a kiddo that enjoys arts and crafts? Sign them up today! After school art classes are held twice a week over seven sessions. The hour long sessions are available for K- 2nd grade from 4:00pm until 5:00pm and 3rd - 6th grade from 5:30pm - 6:30pm.
