Spring Events
Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt
Egg hunts for ages 2 through 10 along with moonwalks, face painting, pictures with the Easter Bunny and more. Visit the Eggstravaganza webpage.
Art Festival
The annual Texas City Art Festival is a juried art show. Local artists show of their works of art at this weeklong show. The awards categories are 3D, under glass, not under glass art and photography. The show is open to the public for viewing and works of art are also for sale. Art workshops are held Monday through Wednesday of the Festival, and enrollment is free. Click for more information on the Texas City Art Festival .
Summer Events
Juneteenth Festivities
Texas City Hosts a slate of events to celebrate Juneteenth and the African American heritage of the community. Annually the City hosts a Gospel Fest, Golf Tournament, Poetry Night and Social as well as the Charles Brown Juneteenth Celebration. We offer something for the entire community to enjoy. Kid Fish
Come and join us for a free fishing event for children ages 6 to 12. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We will have a limited amount of fishing rods/reels and you are welcome to bring your own. Prizes will be given out to a girl and boy that catches the biggest fish. We will hand out complementary hot dogs, chips and drinks while sup0plies last. This event provides the opportunity for families to spend time together in the outdoors and kids can learn how to fish!
Summer Concert / Movies Series
Come out and join the summer fun! Texas City offers both movies and concerts in the park that are free to public and full of enjoyment. These events are offered during the summer from June to August.
Independence Day Concert & Fireworks
Family, fireworks and fun! Texas City displays patriotism through its streets and parks during the Independence Day holiday. We host an annual parade at 10 am and celebrate with live musical entertainment at 7 pm at Bay Street Park with explosive fireworks to end the show. Texas City: red, white and blue!
Fall / Winter Events
Breast Cancer Awareness Walk/Run
The Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk/Run is always held on the first Saturday in October at the Rotary Pavilion at Nessler Park. This is a 5k Walk/Run to bring awareness to breast cancer. Family and friends an participate in this event to bring awareness for individuals who have won the battle, or are fighting the battle of breast cancer, and to honor a loved one's memory.
Halloween Festival
The City of Texas City offers a spooktacular and exciting event for our citizens and surrounding communities to celebrate Halloween. This event provides activities for ghosts and goblins of all ages and includes outdoor games, moonwalks, and costume contests.
Texas City Rotary Club Veteran's Day Salute
Each year the Texas City Rotary Club and the City of Texas City collaborate to honor our nation's veterans. A ceremony is held at the Rotary Pavilion in Nessler Park, with live entertainment, guest speaks and more to honor those who have fought for our country's freedoms.
Snow Spectacular
This is an outdoor community event for families. We are bringing snow to Texas City. For this event we will have snow slides, a big kid and small kid play area as well as a photo op with Santa in the snow. There will be arts and crafts for kids and vendors for all your holiday shopping! Be sure to dress warm to be ready to take on the snow in Nessler Park!
Father / Daughter Dance
Few of life's relationships compare to a father and daughter. From the first time she grasps his finger, to the day he lets her go, their bond deepens. To celebrate and honor this important relationship the City of Texas City Recreation Department host an annual Father/Daughter Dance at the Charles T. Doyle Convention Center in February. Tickets will go on sale after Christmas.
