The Plans Review Section of the Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for reviewing all plans submitted to the City of Texas City for Plans Review building permits for compliance with the 2015 International Fire Code, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, and local amendments (excluding non-commercial residential).
Upon completion of the building project, the plans review section performs an on-site inspection to ensure that the project was completed according to approved plans that were submitted to the Texas City Fire Department (TCFD).
Additionally the plans review section reviews all plans for fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, hood extinguishing systems, preliminary site plans, accessibility for fire department apparatus, fire flow requirements on new building hydrant systems, and the placement of new fire hydrants for TCFD's use. Upon approval of construction, permits will be issued
