Our Summer Internship Program provides college and vocational school students with 8 weeks of mentoring, career counseling, and on-the-job training during the summer. Students also receive 24 months of follow-up career counseling.
Upon completion of the summer component, the City of Texas City will pay $4,000 for educational training to the institution in which the student is enrolled. The student will also receive a lunch stipend during the summer component.
The Community Development Department funds Summer Internship Program participants from income eligible households under the Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program (CDBG).
CDBG funded students must be Texas City residents. Verification of income and residency will be done at the time of application.
