New Residential Accounts and Transfers

Renter (requirements below)

  • A contract for service.   New Residential Account
  • Signed lease agreement.   If one is not available, a written agreement between the legal owner and renter(s) indicating:
    1. Name of renter.
    2. Physical Address.
    3. Dates of move in and move out.
    4. Name and phone number of owner.
    5. Photo ID of owner.
  • Copy of the current driver's license.  Expired licenses will NOT be accepted.
  • Deposit is $150.   Payable upon opening account.
  • If the applicant has any outstanding water account balances, these amounts must be paid in full prior to any water service to begin.

Owner (requirements below)

  • A contract for service.   New Residential Account
  • Proof of ownership: Hud 1 Statement, Closing Disclosure, print out from Galveston CAD showing ownership.
  • Copy of the current driver's license.  Expired licenses will NOT be accepted.
  • Deposit is $150.   Payable upon opening account.
  • If the applicant has any outstanding water account balances, these amounts must be paid in full prior to any water service to begin.

Transfers (requirements below)

  • Completed Transfer From.   Transfer Form
  • Signed lease agreement or proof of ownership for new property.
  • Any balance on the current account must be paid in full prior to transfer to new location.
  • Transfer fee of $25 shall be paid at time of transfer.

 

Unable to Come to Office

If you are unable to come to the office in person, please email the required documentation to waterbilling@texascitytx.gov.   Once all documentation is received, a Customer Service Rep will call to collect the deposit/fees over the phone.
